Today we decided to finish Sea World by doing the shows. First on the agenda was Believe, which is Shamu's regular season show. Pretty amazing stuff for a fish. Just about anything you can imagine a whale doing this thing can do, and a few things you probably couldn't have ever thought they could. It wasn't until I looked at the video and pictures that I realized just how high these guys were getting tossed into the air by these whales. It sort of puts in perspective how trivially tiny these performers are in respect to the whales and how amazing it is that you can get a predator that big to listen to someone that bite size.

Of course, Shamu does this bit where he slowly circles the edge of the pool and uses that gigantic tail of his to toss truly ridiculous sized waves on the crowd. JC was obviously thrilled.

Alas, this set JC up for being a lot of fun the whole rest of the day. The next show was sort of a Cirque due Sole lite production which had an aquatic story to it. It won't put Cirque due Sole out of business but it was very entertaining and a heck of a lot easier to follow. Mayette liked it enough I might try and give her some time to see La Nuba in Downtown Disney. Melissa was too engrossed in finding where we were on her map, and JC was mostly disinterested.

Time to lighten the kids up a little. We headed over to the Shamu's fun park which turns out to be a decent little kiddie amusement area. A very impressive net maze occupied Melissa to the point of exaustion where the four story tube slides were JC's favorite by far. That and a little icecream put them in a good mood so I thought we would try out the seasonal Polar Express ride.

Bad idea. Yep, JC is a huge fan of the movie, and he pointed out that he wanted to go on this over and over again. Never believe a four year old. It isn't like I tried to actually put him on the ride, you have the option of walking through it too. No biggie right? Wrong. Basically we got to the start of this little movie showing and he freaks out and won't quiet down. I took him out of the theater and waiting for Mayette and Melissa to finish the ride. Having had enough we took JC home.

Melissa and I returned so I could actually ride the Polar Express myself and we did the Journey to Atlantis too because I had no idea how freaking scary it was. After that the park was closing. Not a bad day except for JC really proving that there is not point taking him anywhere that isn't a playground, pizza place or icecream parlor. He is not making this vacation easy. What we can do with the next two days is starting to tax our imagination and patience.
