Epcot hasn't always been my favorite of the parks. But Mayette wanted to see what she missed getting sick last trip and she thouht JC would like Finding Nemo so we did it for day six.
The first stop and big hit of the day was the driving simulator. Melissa and JC really enoyed this one, which is really just a modified video game with a stearing wheel but it is a new concept to them. They were mostly good at taking turns considering how excited they were.
Since that went well we decided to try the Fantastic Plastics robot factory where the kids designed and raced their own robots, then they built them and got to take them home. The kids seemed to enjoy that a lot though we didn't place better than 5th and 9th place out of 10! Maybe next time.
After a bit of flailing about we found the Finding Nemo ride. JC was aprehensive at first but he warmed up to it. It was very well done, especially at the end where the 3D holographic fish tanks (I assume) worked really well. At the end of the ride Melissa and JC rushed a big toy fish and we took some pictures. Unfortunately we didn't see that they had pushed past some 10-15 people waiting in line to get that shot. When I realized it I was furious.
I was embarrassed enough to bring today to a quicker end than usual but I did promise Mayette we would eat at the World Showcase. She chose Italy and we found the authentic Italian (as far as I know) foot excellent, though the pizza did not meet the high standards of the 4 and 7 year olds. Being less discriminating, Mayette and I thought it was the best pizza we had in a long time and we had no trouble cleaning up after them.
On our way back Melissa said "I want to ride Mission Space" which kind of suprised me cause I don't recall mentioning it to her. But I decided to indulge her and we took a trip to Mars.
She endured the ride pretty well, I don't think she was too scared though it is a kind of intense ride. Back on earth she was all smiles when we met back up with mommy and JC.
Since the day was short and the kids were good except for the one little event we took a little evening swim in the heated pool and got some in hotel pizza hut for dinner. Certainly a much better day than the last time we visited Epcot. I had wanted to try Soarin, but maybe next trip.
