School

Had our annual problem with school bus incompetence this morning, so the silver lining is that I got to see my daughter off to her first day of 5th Grade in person. This is the start of her last year in the elementary school. Good luck, Melissa!

Jing

Tomorrow we say goodbye to Jing as she will be staying overnight with other relatives in preparation to return to the Philippines this week. We will miss her but we had a great vacation together as the mountain of photos will certainly attest. Have a good flight, Jing!

Candles

Fotunately my wife has plenty of candles from her collection ready to go when we lost power during hurricane Irene. By the way, as I understand it this is about half or less of her collection.

Museums

We finished off our two weeks of trips with the Delaware Natural History Museum and the Delaware Art Museum. The rain prevented us from hitting most of the outdoor locations in the Brandywine Valley and with the impending arrival of Hurricane Irene I don't think we will get the chance for any more trips. We sure enjoyed having Jing with us for the last part of the summer and hope the storm doesn't get in the way of her having a safe trip back to the Philippines.

Herr's

As it turns out a tour of the Herr's factory is close, free and comes with sampling and the freshest potato chips you will ever taste in your life. It was short but interesting. Afterward we went to Lum's Pond to finish the day.
